• Palace "Royal Bistrica"

The palace is located 10 minutes walk from the resort center.
Founded at the end of the IX century and early XX century, the residence was built in traditional Bulgarian Revival style. It was a place, where the rulers of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom rested. Ferdinand I and Boris III used the palace for a hunting lodge.

Borovets is located in the Rila Mountain, the highest mountain in Bulgaria and on the Balkans. Part of the mountain was declared a national park. Rila offers perfect conditions for winter and summer tourism and sports.

Winter tourism

Borovets is a resort of Alpine type with very good conditions for skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing and ski jumping, biathlon, snowmobiles, night skiing, free-ride and free-style.

The ski slopes are about 45 kilometers long, with varying degrees of difficulty, suitable for beginners and advanced. They are marked with international markings and signs in different languages. Maintenance is carried out according to the international standards.

The tracks are grouped into 3 regions:
• Ski Center Sitnyakovo - from 1350 m to 1780 m altitude, with snow cannons covering over 2 km of tracks - "Martinovi barracks" and runs for night skiing "Primrose" and "Rila".
• Ski Center Yastrebetz - from 1340 m to 2369 m altitude with snow cannons providing perfect snow conditions on pistes "Popangelov" and "Yastrebets 3" with an area of 200 acres.
• Ski Center Markudjik - from 2144 m to 2550 m altitude.

All major ski competitions are held at the track "Yastrebets" . The resort is a regular host of international competitions in cross country skiing and biathlon.

Ski runs feature a length of 35 km and a minimum width of 6 meters, according to the International Ski Federation.

There are many ski lifts in Brovets, as the most impressive is the cabin lift to Yastrebets Peak (2363 m asl) with a capacity of 1200 people per hour. For about 20 minutes it takes skiers to a beautiful area surrounded by peaks of Musala, Little Musala, Irechek, Deno, Aleko.

The ski season lasts from mid-December to April. The snow facilities provide perfect condition.

Ski schools offer lessons in skiing and snowboarding, teachers are highly qualified and internationally recognized. Lessons can be both group and individual.

Summer tourism

Borovets is the starting point for numerous routes in the Rila Mountains. Among the most popular routes is Musala mount and the Seven Rila Lakes.

• Mount Musala
Musala is the highest peak in Bulgaria - 2925 meters. It is part of the 100 National Tourist Sites. At the top is built meteorological station of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. By gondola the area "Yastrebets" (1369 meters) can be reached and after it about 200 meters higher is the Musala hut.

• Seven Rila Lakes
The lakes are located at 2100 - 2500 m altitude. This is the longest and picturesque group of lakes of glacial origin in Bulgaria. They are terraced at the slope of the mountain and are connected with small streams.

• Bike park in Borovets offers conditions for sport cyclists with over 20 km of marked trails with different levels of difficulty.

• Off-road routes, jeep safari.

• Hunting base Iskar with the possibility of photo safari.
