In 1992, in Albena was started training in hotel management. As a result in 1999 was opened International College with majors in tourism and recreation. Later the college was moved to the town of Dobrich.

Sport Sport Center Albena offers one of the biggest sport and recreational possibilities on the Black sea coast. Vacation in the vicinity of Albena In the vicinity of Albena there are various interesting sights. Dense forest of "Balata" reserve A beautiful "Balata" reserve is located at the estuary of Batovska river near Albena. The reserve has dense forest extending to 18.2 hectares. The forest occupies an area of the main road Kranevo – Albena, passes behind the hotels of the resort and reaches the beach. In the protected area there are over 250 species of vascular plants and 35 species of mammals. Campsites Albena has three camping sites - "Albena", "International" and "Exotica". The village of Obrochishte The village is located about 10 km from Albena, on the banks of Batovska river. In the park along Obrochiste visitors can see two buildings that have survived from the Ottoman times. One served as a tomb complex and the other one as an inn for monks dervishes. The village inhabited around 2500 people. Besides the nearby village of Obrochishte with its well-preserved fortress dating back to Ottoman times, the village of Kranevo with remains of the ancient fortress used in Roman times and the Middle Ages is also located close to the Albena resort. Kranevo is also attractive for its mineral springs. The coast between Albena and Kranevo is high and extremely picturesque with steep rocky formations. Kranevo can be a good accommodation alternative to Albena. There are also three big camping sites located on the way between Kranevo and Albena. Botanical Garden in Balchik About 10 km from Albena is the Botanical Garden in Balchik. It is included in the list of 100 National Tourist Sites of Bulgaria. The garden belongs to the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". It was established in 1955. The garden is rich in flowers, shrubs and trees from around the world.
