ALBENA

Albena resort is located on the Black Sea coast in northeastern Bulgaria, 14 km from Balchik, 28 km from Varna and 476 km of Sofia.

Albena is situated in close proximity to "Balata" reserve with dense forest extending to 18.2 hectares.

The beach of Albena has a length of 3.5 km and a width of 150 meters. Close to Albena there are three beautiful campsites. The coast along Albena is gentle and the sea is shallow.
The average summer air temperature is + 28 ° C, and the water temperature is + 25 ° C.
The resort was awarded the "Blue Flag" - for environmental cleanliness of the beach, the sea and the entire territory.

Albena resort is suitable for family vacation with children. It is a nice and calm resort, compared to the larger seaside resorts.

There are numerous sports and entertainment in Albena – large waterpark, tennis courts, horse riding base, playgrounds, swimming pools, golf course. You can rent a car or bicycle, boat, yacht, paddle or jet.

Albena offers many hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs and casinos. The complex features about 15,000 beds in over 40 hotels of different categories located on the beach and in the park area of the resort. Most hotels offer views of the sea or the forest. About 90% of the tourists are foreigners.

The resort offers facilities for congress tourism, as well as for spa tourism. A congress center and several SPA and Wellness centers operate in the resort.

SPA centres use local mineral water with 30 °C temperature, slightly mineralised, containing hydrocarbonate with calcium and magnesium.

In 1999 International College was opened in Albena with majors in tourism and recreation.

Annually various festivals and sport events are held in the resort.

Some of interesting sights nearby are Balchik resort, Cape Kaliakra, Balata Reserve, the Dolphinarium in Varna, Aladzha monastery and natural phenomenon Stone Forest.

Albena there are regular bus and shuttle bus service to Varna, Balchik, Golden Sands resort and Dobrich. Maritime transport also benefit from and to the port of Albena.

Every 30 minutes there are buses from more distant hotels to the beach and back. A small train is also available on the territory of the resort.
