A total of 26 beaches and 6 marinas along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast have been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag distinction for the 2026 season. This is the highest number of certified sites in Bulgaria to date and places the country among the seaside destinations that are increasingly focused on clean environment, safety and sustainable tourism.

The Blue Flag is one of the most recognisable international awards in tourism. It is granted annually based on strict criteria related to seawater quality, environmental management, safety, accessibility, infrastructure and the level of services provided.

According to the Bulgarian Blue Flag Movement, the record number of awarded sites is a sign of rising standards along the Black Sea coast and reflects the efforts of concessionaires, local authorities and the tourism sector to offer a better, safer and more competitive seaside environment.
