Petrov dol is a neat village located in Northeastern Bulgaria. It is situated 35 km away from Varna and within only 20 min drive on the highway Varna-Sofia. The village is set 6 km away from Provadia town- the inheritant of the Babylon fortress Provaton. The Bulgarian medieval town-fortress at this place was once called Ovech. The ruins of this fortress could be found in the district Tashhisar located just above the town. Here you could also find the Provadian Baths, the hotel “Petricha” set just 30 km south-east from Provadia and 4 km away from Avren village, the historical fortress Petrich Kale, the Devnian springs (30 in number). There are regular bus lines going to and out of the village.
